HAX is a global nonprofit dedicated to making computer science education more accessible, one hackathon at a time. We aim to provide everyone, with a focus on girls and underrepresented groups, a chance to receive hands-on experience with programming in an effort to bridge the gender and socioeconomic gaps in tech. Meet our Co-Director of Management, Sarah Hasnain!
In HAX, Sarah coordinates dynamic internal operations and supports team organizers by setting benchmark goals for them to hit. She also partners with executive leadership to conduct high-level organizational efforts. In Sarah's words, "It's all about leaders supporting leaders in our shared HAX mission!"

Meet our Director of Management, Alicia Chen!
She leads our team in internal outreach by acting as a support system for organizers. She helps others get situated within HAX to create and execute hackathons, and also manages all internal communications and logistics!
Did You Know? In high school, Alicia plays water polo and has leadership positions in Interact Club and Model UN Club. Outside of school, she is part of the Rotary Vietnam Project, an initiative that supports education for underprivileged children in Vietnam! She also loves coffee, pasta, watching Netflix, and keeping up to date with political affairs. In the future, she hopes to earn a degree from college and bridge computer science with medicine and health care!
Meet our Co-Director of Outreach, Anna Xia!
Anna recruits and communicates with HAXathon hosts and sponsors, seeking to spread CSEducation to as many students as possible. She also works on the Content Creation Team, where she drafts up HAXathon Guides and resources for coders and HAXathon organizers.
Did You Know? Anna loves robotics and physics! She even spends her free time teaching robotics to elementary schoolers and working on home improvement projects. Through all of her dedicated efforts and desire to study CS or EE in college, Anna hopes to ultimately improve society through technology.
Meet our Co-Director of Outreach, Aneekah Uddin!
Aneekah, along with Anna, leads the Outreach team. She is in charge of external communications for HAX. She finds hosts like schools and libraries and sponsors for HAXathons!
Did You Know? Aneekah loves robotics and fencing! She is also civically active, a sneaky selfie taker, and a watermelon enthusiast.
Meet our Director of Design, Isabel Abonitalla!
Together with Christina, she leads the #design team in making the logo and branding kit. They also help design the website and social media posts. As a member of the management team, she helps with internal logistics and overall communication.
Did You Know? Isa's ears are genetically different, one earlobe is attached and the other is detached. She is also fiercely proud of being Filipino! Her career goals aren't set in stone yet, but her ultimate life goal is to own a big suburban house of her own with a porch, mango tree, and huge bathtub.
Meet our Director of Design, Christina Chen!
Christina is one of our two Directors of Design. Along with Isabel Abonitalla, they manage and lead the design team in creating graphics for HAX. With the directors' guidance, the design team also focuses on HAX's branding kit, interacting across teams to ensure unity and accuracy of our content. When Christina isn't managing her duties at HAX, she runs a small business called Consequence Clothing (IG: @shopconsequence). Christina is currently working to incorporate sustainable fabrics in her next clothing drop.
Meet our Assistant Executive Director, Michael Cao!
Michael manages and oversees everything HAX does on a daily basis, including outreach, design, content creation, social media, and management. He loves education and spreading STEM; he is involved in many STEM-related outreach efforts!
Did You Know? Michael loves traveling, computers and robotics! Ever since he was 12, he’s loved to mess around with different electronics and took apart his first computer at age 13! When he was 15, he joined his high school's robotics team, which ultimately led him to many opportunities and connections.
