Letter of Continued Interest (Wait listed)

Hey Addie,

Since you have time to commit for the ones you've been accepted, and you want to go to the schools you've been waitlisted at the moment, I'd say go ahead and let the admission officers of wait listed schools know that you really want to go to these schools.

Hi everyone,

Thank you for your reply. I've got accepted into Stetson with a presidential scholarship and a Bonner scholarship, as well as Yale-NUS. Both offered me financial aid, but the package differs by 2.5x.

@sobhet, would you recommend writing a "why X college" essay to schools that did not ask me for such essay when applying so that I could show them what I am most interested about at their school?

I'd say that of course it would be better than doing nothing, and showing your continued interest in the college. If you have good reasons that would be worth of admission officers' time, def. go for it. Good luck!!!
Guaranteed Merit Aid

Way out of context, but if some documents still say "Not reviewed" at this point and admissions decision are coming out in a week or two, is this an indication they are not looking into my application anymore?

Normally this would be an indication that it actually has not been reviewed - if you are looking at university portal it could be that what they post there is not up to date

Also have a look at University of Buffalo - www.buffal... nding.html

Is anyone here aware of schools (with rolling admissions at this point) that offers guaranteed merit aid based on test scores for international students? I know UA Huntsville is one of them, but not sure of others. I recently got waitlisted by Saint Olaf, presumably because I applied for financial aid, so it kind of worries me that I would not get into any school at all.

Quick question, if I have taken a gap year, does my recommender need to know what I've done during the gap year so she could include it in the letter?

Hi Addie - the closer relationship with your recommender you have the better. Ideally, this should be someone who knows you well and has a good understanding of activities you are involved in; while it could be a teacher from your early years of high school who hasn't taught you in a while it is important to make sure this person is aware of your progress etc.

Yes, I am

Hey Ani, how is your application going? Have you faced any complication due to gap year that I should also be aware of?
