College List Help

Hi Miles

You have a very good profile - some ideas below

1. don't write off UIUC just yet? what is your weighted/unweighted GPA? you are near top 10% of the class, in-state and have good SAT and extracurriculars so definitely worth a shot
2. CS is indeed very competitive so need to come up with a range of schools - you have some time to do more stuff but also focus on essays
3. When choosing a list a lot depends also on what you want to do when you graduate

Some of our suggestions here - a mix of top and mid tier schools including some great universities with somewhat underrated CS programs but excellent career options (you need more safeties but also there are more very good colleges where you can do well)

- WashU St Louis
- UChicago
- Virginia Tech
- Dartmouth
- UCSB, UCSD & UCI
- U Illinois Chicago
- Swarthmore

Give us a shout if you have more questions!

Yes one suggestion - think about taking SAT subject tests as it is a good way to show your strengths to compensate for somewhat low gpa
